How to Patch Clothes

Whether you’re fixing a hole or want to add some new flair to your wardrobe, patching clothes can be both fun and easy.

Follow these simple steps and get the most out of your favourite outfit.

Embroidery

Step 1: Mark out the hole by drawing a hole around where you want it to be.

Step 2: Choose a thread.

Step 3: Add stitches from each corner and work your way to the centre.

Step 4: Create a perfect square.

Sew on patches

Step 1: Place your patch and pin it to the garment with needles.

Step 2: Start sewing by machine or by hand.

Iron on patches

Step 1: Place your patch on the garment and a damp cloth on top of the patch.

Step 2: Iron for 60 seconds on medium heat.

Step 3: Iron again for a few seconds if the edges are loose.

That’s it! Your clothes are ready to face another season.
